Druid at the Doctor’s

Today when I was at a doctor’s office for an annual exam, I had to re-fill out that info form, and in the optional question box about religion, I entered “Druid.” First time I actually wrote that down anywhere, and it was rather empowering.

So glad they did not ask me to work magic over plants or clear up the rain outside. Phew!

Modern Paganism Video

I saw this video and think it presents a nice introduction to paganism. While my own path is more inspired by druidry, this depiction of modern earth-based religions is gentle enough to be approachable to those new to many of these concepts.

I hope you find may find it helpful.

Planning to Attend the OBOD U.S. East Coast Gathering 2012

I am planning to attend my first druid camp, the OBOD U.S. East Coast Gathering 2012. Just sending in my paperwork tomorrow (finally), after deciding it may be nice to see some druids in person rather than just here online. Nothing wrong with online, but a bit of blended experiences–in real time AND online–may be nice.

More to come.

Imbolc 2012

Ireland - GlendaloughThe Wheel of the Year has turned, as here we are already at Imbolc. While a time of the year where the light begins to increase and is also known as  Candlemas or Groundhog’s Day, it is a time for purification and the first stirring of new life, both when snowdrops begin to flower and the season of lambs begins, it is a happy celebration. For us here in New York City, this is most readily seen this year in the temperature — today was 62° F in the afternoon.

I plan to do a cleansing ritual tomorrow morning (February 2) on the roof of my building, someplace that is strangely peaceful and quiet at sunrise, far above the waking busyness of Manhattan. I may even borrow from one of the first books I read on druidry, The Solitary Druid by Ellison.

May this turn of the wheel find you cleansed and happy.

A New Place to Consider

Share Button

I have been wanting to consider some aspects of my spiritual life, and think this may be a place to begin it in a more public way. I am not sure what to expect or what I will share, but no better time to begin than the present.

Thanks for the visit, and I hope you may find this a useful read.
